Meet Our Team
Dave Besing
Dave is a Southern Indiana native with family roots in Gibson County’s farming community. He graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and earned his master’s degree from Southeastern Baptist College. Dave spent eight years in Central Asia with his family doing humanitarian aid work. He returned to the United States and served in various roles for Flanders, ultimately as Chief Operating Officer. While at Flanders he spent much of his time helping to develop Flanders international business, which included the deployment of advanced electrical mining technologies along with electrical service and repair.
Allen Patterson
Allen was born and raised in Evansville. He graduated from the University of Evansville in 1997 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Before co-founding Rockfrog Energy, he had 30 years of experience in the electrical industry with Flanders, where he was CEO. Allen has experience designing, building, and maintaining large electrical systems in the metal mill, power generation, and mining industries.

What is a Rockfrog?
While serving in Central Asia, Dave learned that the local word for “Turtle,” if translated very literally into English was a compound word, “Rockfrog.” It seems that at some point a long time ago there was a Central Asian person that looked at a turtle and perceived it as a frog inside of a rock. As Dave had never thought of a turtle like that before, it struck him as very interesting how a different perspective can change the way you think of everyday things. Allen and Dave see Rockfrog Energy as an opportunity think about the way we generate, store, and use electricity from a different perspective.
